一八七四年的巴黎，一群被官方沙龙拒之门外的年轻人，在摄影师纳达尔的工作室办了自己的展览。评论家借莫奈一幅《印象·日出》的名字嘲笑他们，流派的名字就这么留下了。他们不画神话与历史，只画此刻的光——水面、站台、裙摆上的褶皱。颜色不再调和，而是一笔一笔并置，让眼睛自己去混。
